A Night of Music, Community, and Holiday Spirit at Waller Road Grange

The Puyallup Valley Community Band spreads holiday cheer during the Community Christmas Concert at Waller Road Grange.
The holiday season truly came alive last night as the Puyallup Valley Community Band filled Waller Road Grange with music, laughter, and a wonderful sense of togetherness during our Community Christmas Concert.
Hosted by Waller Road Grange for our local neighbors, the concert was a joyful celebration enjoyed by everyone in attendance. From festive concert pieces to beloved sing-along favorites, the music brought smiles, toe-tapping, and plenty of holiday cheer. It was heartwarming to see the audience not just listening, but actively participating and sharing in the experience.
Following the concert, the evening continued with a delightful time of visiting and connection. Neighbors and band members gathered to enjoy an impressive spread of Christmas cookies, along with hot cocoa and hot apple cider. Conversations flowed easily, new connections were made, and the Grange truly felt like the heart of the community it serves.
As a proud Grange member, it is especially meaningful to bring together two organizations that I care deeply about—the Waller Road Grange and the Puyallup Valley Community Band. Inviting our neighbors in to share music, holiday spirit, and a sense of belonging is exactly what community building is all about. Judging by the many comments we heard afterward, people are already looking forward to next year! The band members themselves were equally “wowed” by the warmth, hospitality, and welcoming atmosphere created by our Grange volunteers.
This event would not have been possible without the incredible efforts of so many people. A heartfelt thank you to:
Arin Hinman for taking the lead on kitchen coordination and creating such a beautifully organized setup
Sheila Wynn, Mike Smith, Julie and Steve Thomas, and Darlene Smith for staying late to ensure everything was cleaned up and put away
Julie Thomas, Theresa Gratzer, Theresa McKinley, Darlene Smith, Ronda Fredrickson, Tandy Vandenberg, Sheila Wynn, and Joe Price for baking the wonderful treats and for serving, pouring drinks, greeting guests, and making everyone feel so welcome
Because of your time, care, and generosity, this concert was a true success.
It is my sincere hope that this can become an annual holiday tradition, and I look forward to working toward reserving a similar date in December 2026 to once again host the Puyallup Valley Community Band and our neighbors for another Community Christmas Concert.
Thank you all for helping make this such a joyful and memorable way to celebrate the season.
